Pizza Bread

Time For Family Night

This pizza bread is great for a family fun night, or any night. It’s something that kids of all ages can help make by rolling out, choosing their toppings, adding cheese, and maybe even helping put on the sauce.

I cook the raw ingredients in advance so I can drain the grease off. This way all the ingredients just need to be heated up and you don’t have to worry about them being done or not.

INGREDIENTS

Everyone’s Got A Favorite

When we make this I usually use three loaves of bread and that’s for four to six adults with leftovers for the next day. I usually let my son make one for him which he loads up with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, bacon, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese while my daughter is just a cheesy girl; sometimes she adds green peppers–depends on her mood. My husband likes anything but pineapple and anchovies; he is easy to please (usually, at least). I, on the other hand, am also a little simple. I prefer Mushrooms, onions, hamburger, bacon and mozzarella.

Thawing and Baking

I follow the directions on the back of the bag for thawing the bread dough and for baking as well. You want to make sure it is golden brown on the top. So, try to brush off as much flour as you can on the top. I spray the bottom of the pans before I place the pizza bread on the pan. To get the top golden brown, I spray a little on the top with olive oil cooking spray (Like the brand Pam). If you don’t have that you can brush a little olive oil or vegetable oil on top as a substitute.

When it comes out of the oven it should be done as long as you cooked it following the directions on the back of the bag. Some of the sauce might of leaked out and that’s okay. It happens to us all of the time. The ends might be a little thicker and not as much filling but it gets used with the extra sauce left over with some Parmesan cheese.

WHAT’S NEXT

The only thing left is to slice it up and enjoy! If there is any left I store it in an airtight container for three days in the refrigerator, or you can freeze it for up to 3 months.

I hope you enjoy!

Instructions
  1. If you are using any ingredients that need cooked you make want to get them started now. Like sausage, hamburger, bacon or any of your family favorites. That way they have time for the grease to drain out. If they still have some unwanted grease place between a few paper towels and lightly press to help absorb the extra grease.
  2. After your bread has risen and is ready to be rolled out lightly flour out your work surface. Make sure to not to roll it to thin or to tear the dough. You don’t want any sauce or topping falling out. If a little does its ok don’t worry it happens. If you do get a hole try to pinch the bread back together.
    Let's do this.
